Alice Hann

My work brings together the themes of the autobiographical and the use of storytelling, an examination of the banal and the overlooked and the use of performance to highlight certain aspects of domestic or everyday experience. Recent years have seen a transformation in the way the public views the most personal of subjects, such as mental and physical health, disability, sexual orientation, identification, and my work is a product of this use of the ‘personal’ and an attempt at revealing essential truths about all kinds of experience; a demonstration of individualism and universality.
