Emily Hay

My interest lies in the individual construction and personal connection we have to the spaces we inhabit. My work takes the form of a series of painted portraits, objects and surroundings reflecting spaces of intimacy. My focus remains on the temporality of these spaces, and the transient moment in which the person is depicted. The constant shifting, reconstruction and ‘accidents’ in composing the spaces we occupy serve to reflect our own subliminal states and individuality.
