Through film and photography my work explores the power of a single light source within art. Painters such as Caravaggio and Leonardo Da Vinci used chiaroscuro to create tonal contrasts often by using a single natural light source, such as a candle flame, which was the only additional source of light. My work explores current versions or interpretations of this technique where an ever present artificial light source, such as a computer or phone screen, would light a scene.
