My work considers contemporary Northern Ireland and the ways in which the legacy of the Troubles and the influence of the Catholic church affects the lives of women. I have worked from a set of photographs taken in my Granddad’s house that explore religious imagery in the home. As the vote to repeal the 8th amendment on Abortion draws closer I want to explore through print media how women are slowly shaking off the hold of Catholicism on their body autonomy.
