The experience that the viewer has with the work is as important as the work itself. By altering the environment, the lighting and the size of the work I want to invite the viewer to take time to look. The dim red lighting alters the viewers optics, making their eyes adjust to the environment and therefore looking at the work in a different way to if it were in natural lighting, therefore changing their perception of the work.
