Johannes Rudloff

Johannes is trained in traditional sculpting and he experienced different approaches to fine art by his art studies and post graduate training in Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom. His art explores public spaces, such as train stations, squares, public transport, work spaces and living spaces. In his Art he likes to play with cultural habits and the he plays with conventional notions of beauty and ugliness by seeking them in a new context or by distorting it. Depending on the situation and location, he uses different media (e.g. sculpture, video, performance, sound installation and collage). The artist uses the principle of the experiment as a creative impulse and combines it with research on the site. In this way, context-bound and humorous philosophical works are created. Important themes of the artist are: Normativity, identity, individual and collective consciousness.
